Flying out here was fun. I was the only missionary who didn't speak Spanish and because of my last name everyone expected me to know how. I guess its gonna be like the Philippines all over again with Tagalog hahah.
We arrived on Tuesday and met our Mission President, President Cordon. He is in the Quorum of the Seventy and I like him a lot!
The next day we met our new companions. My comp is sweet. His name is Elder Tennis and he's awesome. For most of his life he grew up in Saudia Arabia but every summer he would come back to the States to Orem Utah. He's really cool and only has 3 weeks left. I'm sad we're only together for a little bit.
Something cool about him is he was called to speak Persian which is called Farsi. The two other Elders in my apartment also speak Farsi so they speak it around the house and it's such a cool language. Maybe I'll pick up on some!
My new area is called Woodland Hills. We're both new to the area so were fresh starting it! This area was Elder Tennis' first area so it's not too bad. I'm just trying to figure out the area before he leaves so it'll be good.
Being stuck in our apartments and doing virtual lessons is definitely different. I'm glad the work of Lord is still moving forward. Even though we're in our apartments we've still gotten a hold of members and able to teach lessons.
The first lesson I taught here was awesome. I really missed teaching and it's hard for me to teach in English but, I'm pumped to be out here again and super excited to see what happens for the next year on my mission!
