Week Three in the MTC

July 31, 2019

What's up everyone!

This week was a lot of language study even more than last week. We started immediate core which is a huge step up from basic core. We're learning how to construct sentences which is sweet. But it's still pretty mahirap (difficult). I love it.

The teachers for our district are so helpful. We have 3 teachers. Bro Ballon, Bro Sulestre, and Sister Lapay. They're all so kind and helpful. Bro Ballon is super blunt which is great cause it helps me learn a lot better hahaha

I really like our teachers. Our district are all getting along well. We're basically with each other 24/7. I'm making a lot of new friends here!

The senior LTM's (language training missionaries) are done with the MTC and left to go to the field today. There was a lot of Senior LTM's I looked up to that have help me a lot. So because they're leaving us Junior LTM's are  becoming the Senior's. I'm so pumped.

Throughout the week I sometimes get discouraged about the language. Because of that I would get negative and hard on myself. One day during my personal scripture study I was still discouraged. I opened up my scriptures to a random page in The Book of Mormon. I picked a random verse. The scripture I pointed at was Alma 46:8 "Thus we see how quick the children of men do forget the Lord their God, yea, how quick to do iniquity, and to be led away by the evil one."

This was a huge eye opener to me. We all need to continue to remember our Heavenly Father and know He's watching over us. It's easy to get distracted in life and forget what our purpose is and let satan lead us astray, but we need to stay faithful to our loving Heavenly Father. As we continue to be positive and remember our Heavenly Father, especially when we're sad and discouraged He will send His love and comfort to us.

Just wanted to end with that. I love you guys! I hope everyone is doing alright ;)

Week Two in the MTC

July 24, 2019

Kumusta!

I got the chance to go to the temple this week because it's right across the street from the MTC. It was such a great experience. The temple is so different here. It's a lot smaller but the same spirit comes in during the session. I'm super grateful that I can go do endowments at the temple. I love it and I can't wait to go more!

One of the days my district did a group fast to help us learn the language better, which was kinda cool but it was hard. I know the blessings will come for all of us soon enough. I'm sorta picking up on Tagalog. It's still pretty hard haha. It's pretty tough for everyone but we're getting there.

We've been just working on the language the last couple days but one day we took a break and practiced sharing a message/ scripture, and I found a scripture that was awesome it's Alma 29:9. I won't write it all out but it talks about how we are instruments in God's hands and I love that. Heavenly Father needs to use us as instruments to make a beautiful symphony by spreading His gospel to all His children.

As a missionary I need to be willing to let Heavenly Father guide me to preach the gospel, and bring others unto Christ.

On Sunday during the second hour we had a lesson about "The Plan of Salvation." It was great. The whole lesson was getting taught through the Spirit.

All the comments made all the Elders in the room think about our families. I loved it so much. We all were crying by the end, and realized how grateful we are for The Plan of Salvation that we can be with our families forever.

I'm so grateful I'm a missionary even though I miss everyone at home. I know Heavenly Father wants me to be serving Him and I'm excited to learn more and grow closer to the Lord.

Love you guys and know I'm keeping you all in my prayers.

Week One In The MTC

July 17, 2019

So it was my first week at the MTC! It's been an eventful week I'm having such a good time. I've learned so much. It's so cool to see so many different people come together and have the same goal...to learn how to help people come unto Christ and feel his love. It's crazy to think I'm finally a missionary, once I finally got my name tag it was so amazing to look  down and say I'm a representative of Christ and our Church.

I love how easy you you can feel the Spirit here. All the classes I've attended everyone can bring the Spirit in the room. My companion is Elder Seth Strickland from Tennessee. He's so awesome! He's kind of goofy and his laugh is so funny but he makes sure I always stay focused. Especially when it comes to learning Tagalog. I get distracted so easy and every time I start talking or being a silly guy he hits my leg and says "Elder Espiritu you got this, lets keep going" He's a really good companion we balance each other out.

I'm so glad I have the opportunity to serve the Lord it was definitely an eye opener when I landed here at the MTC. But I'm super excited to learn more and build my testimony every day and become closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Na mi-miss ko kayo lahat at mahal ko kayong lahat! (I miss you all and love you all!)
